It’s apple season. Delicious, raw, paleo, and sugar free applesauce is minutes away with this easy and nutritious recipe. Keep the skins on your apples because the peels are where the best cancer-fighting compounds with big names like catechin, procyanidins, chlorogenic acid, phloridzin are found. Cinnamon is an added bonus as this delicious spice can lower blood sugar levels and reduce risk of heart disease.

Ingredients:

  • 3 large apples
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 medjool dates
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Tablespoon of water if needed for smoother consistency

Directions

  • Dice apples, discard seeds and core but leave unpeeled and put in blender
  • Add other ingredients to blender
  • Cleanblend
  • Add additional water slowly if mixture is too thick
  • Use the Cleanblend tamper to keep the mixture blending smoothly
  • Refrigerate and eat within 2 days
